Vincent Jones, MD

Physician, Activist, Entrepreneur

My name is Dr. Vincent Jones. I am a native of Detroit, Michigan. I completed my primary and secondary education in the Detroit Public School System and completed my undergraduate education at Wayne State University. I continued my educational pursuits at Ross University School of Medicine, and went on to complete residency and fellowship training in Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine.

Medical school is also where I met my beautiful wife. We have been married for 15 years and are the proud parents of three loving children. I am currently practicing Emergency Medicine in Georgia. I am board certified in both Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine. VeraRosa Higher Learning Scholarship is the business I own alongside my wife, who also shares my passion for education.

I find teaching to be one of life’s most rewarding experiences. I am privileged to experience this joy through the VeraRosa Higher Learning Scholarship. I teach, so I can learn about the world and all the infinite possibilities that brand-new minds bring to me every day.

STEM-based learning, specifically math, is one of the most challenging topics for children to understand and master. Mathematics is the universal language, and if you master it, you will excel to great heights. My passion is to help educate and inspire the next generation as an entrepreneur and advocate for healthy family life.

My name is Dr. Shameka Jones. I am a professional in the medical field who also loves teaching and helping students achieve their goals through the VeraRosa Higher Learning Scholarship. My educational background consists of attending elementary school at Flat Shoals, middle school at Conyers Middle, and high school at Salem, all in the beautiful state of Georgia. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Georgia, with a bachelor of science in nutrition science.

I went on to earn a degree in medicine at Ross University School of Medicine, and my residency was completed in Family Medicine at Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Georgia. I am currently board certified in Family Medicine, practicing in Georgia. I have three amazing children, and I am married to an Emergency Medicine physician who is also my business partner for the VeraRosa Higher Learning Scholarship. We wanted to give back to my hometown community because it has played a pivotal role in my educational success.

We had the opportunity to witness first-hand, through our children, how mastering math and other STEM-based learning can help the next generation accomplish their goals and hopefully surpass previous generations with their educational goals and dreams.

I have been tutoring and teaching for 12 years in various settings, including colleges and universities, and individual private tutoring in both suburban and urban classrooms and some home settings. We hope to give children in this community the opportunity to achieve their educational goals by providing advancements and enrichments to assist them in becoming successful.
